Mr. William Russell Jones

Funeral services for Mr. William Russell Jones, 75, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Strong Cemetery with Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, May 20, at the funeral home. Mr. Jones passed from this life on May 9, 2025, in Tyler. He was born July 18, 1949, in Henderson to the late Thomas Russell and Mildred (Prior) Jones, and he was a life-long resident of Henderson. He graduated from Henderson High School and went on to the University of Houston where he received his Pharm.D. He dedicated his life to the care of others through his work as a pharmacist. Russell was the last owner of Bagley Pharmacy and would work with the pharmacies at Brookshires, Wal-Mart, and CVS from which he retired. The last few years, Mr. Jones has been attending Bar None Cowboy Church. Mr. Jones was a man of many interests. He was an avid gun collector and lifetime member of the NRA, coached little league baseball for years, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Russell loved his grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed seeing his granddaughter, Cadie, grow her strengths as a great dancer and teacher. As his grandson, CJ, developed his soccer skills, Russell became an avid soccer watcher. Russell also found joy watching his grandson, Lane, wheelchair race for track. He was also a talented woodworker and leather worker, and the family still has some of the little sailboats he made out of pecan shells and toothpicks. Russell was also a very patriotic man and unwavering supporter of President Trump. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandy Mims Jones, and sister-in-law Shari Mims Standard. Survivors include his children, Chris Jones and wife Crystal, and Kim Jones Meador, all of Henderson; grandchildren, C.J. Jones, Cadie Meador, and Lane Meador, all from Henderson; and a host of beloved family, nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be C.J. Jones, David Staples, Thomas Thompson, Pat Brown, Carl Standard, Jesse Staples, and Kavan Clayton. Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Meador, Tommy Thompson, Amos Standard, and Tank Wallace.
