Mr. Ronald L. Chote

Funeral services for Mr. Ronald L. Chote, 74, of Minden, will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Dr. Matt Pitts and Judge Clay Gossett officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14, in the chapel at the funeral home. Mr. Chote passed from this life on April 11, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on September 3, 1951, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Jesse L. and Dorothy Fay (Rollins) Chote and has lived in Rusk County since the age of 13. Ronnie graduated from Henderson High School in 1969 where he was a member of the 1968 Henderson Lion football team. He would go on to a career with Galyean Equipment where he retired as plant supervisor. Ronnie was an avid gun collector, hunter and fisherman. Being family oriented, it gave him joy to spend those times on the lake or in the stand with at least one member of the family. He was also very involved with Henderson Girls Softball Association where he had the honor to serve as Commissioner for several years. Mr. Chote was indeed a very special man with a heart for children, and children loved him and gravitated to him. He was also a member of and worshipped at Minden Baptist Church for several years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Robin Dabney and husband Ken, and Redonna Nieh, sisters-in-law Linda Akin, and Bennie Boyd and husband Curtis, and brothers-in-law Bill Moseley, Dave Hartman, Jack Sellers, and Carl Akin. Survivors include his wife Lula Chote of Minden; daughters Kim Jones and husband Jeffrey of Henderson, and Nicki Greenhouse and husband Kirk of Lumberton; grandchildren Jackson Jones and wife Brooke, Grace Jones, Cole Greenhouse, and Reid Greenhouse; great-grandchildren Kaceson, Collins, and Charlotte; brothers and sisters Randy Chote and wife Jennifer of Henderson, Becci Akin and husband Troy of Gilmer, Renee Moseley of Laneville, Rusty Chote and wife Stacy of Carlisle, Rachel Chote of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, and Jessica Chote of Henderson; brothers and sisters-in-law Byron Nieh, Lynn Akin of Hallsville, Patricia Hartman of Minden, Louise Richardson of Reno, Joe and Lynn Akin of Henderson, Tim and Candy Akin of Minden, Betty and Steve Ponder of Minden, and Sandy Akin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as other family and friends. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful nurses and medical staff of Assist Care Home Health and Marshall Hospice. Pallbearers will be Kyle Dabney, Matt Akin, Zack Akin, Keith Akin, Bobby Richardson, Heath Chote, and Chase Ponder. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the HHS 1968 football team.
