Mrs. Opal Ketchum

Funeral services for Mrs. Opal Ketchum, 91, of Henderson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Alan Ketchum and Rev. Roger Hoffpowier officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the funeral home. Sister Ketchum passed away October 20, 2024 in Hallsville. She was born June 20, 1933 in Jonesboro, LA to James Whit and Ollie Jane (Smith) Rhymes. Sister Ketchum loved the Lord and enjoyed being a pastor’s wife. She worked as a tour guide for the Harrison County Historical Museum for eleven years. She has been a resident of Henderson since 1995. Sister Ketchum loved her family and took great pleasure in cooking and making quilts. She also enjoyed singing and was a big supporter of the Fairfield Children’s Home. Sister Ketchum was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Henderson. Sister Ketchum was preceded in death by her parents, James Whit and Ollie Jane Rhymes; siblings, Durwood Rhymes, James Rhymes, Arnold Rhymes, Lonie Kennedy, Mary Holman, Eva Ray Morgan; sisters-in-law, Bama Rhymes, Doris Rhymes and Margie Rhymes; brothers-in-law, Paul Kennedy, Crayton Holman, J.A. Morgan; granddaughter, Betsy Green Collier; great-grandson, Samuel Weston Green. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Glen Ketchum; daughter, Deborah Green and husband Ron; son, Alan Ketchum and wife Donna; grandchildren, Chris Rigsby and wife Cindy, Teresa Bagley and husband Randy, Josh Green and wife Amy, Jonathon Ketchum and wife Van, Jason Ketchum and wife Jeanette; great-grandchildren, Ryan Collier and wife Brooke, Haley Coleman and husband Clay, Garrett Green, Hope Self and husband Tyler, Natalie Green, Cole Buzbee, Clarabel Rigsby, Jace Ketchum, Addison Ketchum, Asher Ketchum, Emma Smith, Ashlyn Smith, Micah Ketchum, Makayla Ketchum; great-great grandchildren, Bryson Collier, Gracie Collier, Heidi Coleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
