Mrs. Mickey Moore

Funeral services for Mrs. Mickey Moore, 81, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Jason Taylor and Joe Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Chalk Hill Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Moore passed from this life on March 16, 2024, at Heritage at Longview. She was born April 19, 1942, in Sweetwater to the late Mike and Roxie (Potts) Hughey. Mickey was raised in Roby, Texas and would later move to East Texas. She was a wonderful homemaker and amazing mother. If you were in her home, you were loved. She was known as a friend that you could count on. If you needed her to work with you, make a homecoming mum, design a balloon bouquet, or tag along to keep you company, you just had to call Mickey! She would be there! Mrs. Moore was a member and servant of Bar None Cowboy Church where you would find her alongside her husband, Doyle, serving in the kitchen ministry. Mickey was well-known around Tatum as the ultimate volunteer. Anything Dee was involved in, she would volunteer whole-heartedly. She coached t-ball and was a Camp Fire and Blue Bird group leader. She spent many years as a part of the Tatum ISD PTA, served as president and proudly received the Honorary Life Membership Award. Mickey could be found every Friday night at the football games as part of the Band Boosters and Athletic Boosters; handing out uniforms, working in the concession stand, wearing her Tatum Eagle green and cheering loud! There was no doubt she loved her grandchildren. She never missed an event they were involved in. They cherish the memories of her love and support. Whether it be bringing lunch to school, ranch rodeos, sporting events, or 4-H she was always there to cheer them on. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Doyle Moore, and two sisters Dorothy Hughey and Charlice Theobald. Survivors include her daughters, Dee Stephens of Henderson, and Judy Campos and husband Raymond of Aransas Pass; and her grandchildren, Caleb Stephens of Henderson, Jordan Stephens of Carthage, Andrew Valdez II and wife Amanda of Craigsville, IN, and Jason Valdez and wife Desiree of Carlsbad, CA; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bubba Gibson, Rodney Henderson, Paul Bickerstaff, Caleb Stephens, Jason Taylor and Joe Cox.
