Sr. Jose Ramon Gonzalez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jose Ramon Gonzalez, 57, of Kilgore, will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore with Father John Henao officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 10, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Mr. Gonzalez passed from this life on February 6, 2025, in a Longview hospital. He was born September 20, 1967, in Usuluton, El Salvador and has lived in East Texas since he was 16. He worked as a forklift driver for Sadler’s Barbeque and has been a loyal, hardworking employee for 41 years. Jose was by nature a happy man and enjoyed exercising. He was also a sports fan but really loved his Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Gonzalez had also been a long-time member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his mother Corina Contreras. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Lucila Gonzalez of Kilgore; sons, Angel Marquez, and Jesus Marquez and wife Blanca of Kilgore; father, Ramon Gonzalez and wife Maria of Henderson; grandfather, Fernando Mendoza of El Porvenir, El Salvador; sisters and brothers, Elizabeth Cisneros, Ricardo Gonzalez, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Ada Gonzalez, Alfredo Gonzalez, and Vicki Gonzalez; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild with one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Ricardo Gonzalez, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, Alfredo Gonzalez, Jorge Gonzalez, Mauricio Garcia, and Addin Cruz. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
