Mr. John Wesley Forshee

Funeral services for Mr. John Wesley Forshee, 56, of New London, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 1, at the funeral home. Known to many as “Johny”, Mr. Forshee was born June 28, 1967, in California to the late John L. and Patsy (Abercrombie) Forshee. Throughout his life, John knew the value of hard work and dedication. Since 2005, he contributed his skills and passion to Darr Equipment, where he began as a service technician and later excelled in the role of customer experience coordinator. His commitment to excellence and genuine care for others made him a respected colleague and valued member of the team. Family was truly at the center of John's world. He adored his loving wife and adoring children, John Ryan Forshee, Jace Thomas Forshee, and Roman Sawyer Forshee; John was their greatest support, biggest fan, and loved them all unconditionally. John's dedication to his family, however, extended well-beyond his immediate household, as he cherished his extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews, sharing in their joys and triumphs. An outdoorsman at heart, John found solace and joy in nature's embrace. Whether hunting, fishing, or honing his skills in target shooting, he felt such peace amidst the beauty of the great outdoors. He was also a fan of old, classic Westerns films and the tales of the Wild West. A man of faith, John found strength and comfort in his church community. He was devoted to reading his Bible and sharing his love for the Lord with others. His faith infused every aspect of his life, guiding his actions and serving as a source of inspiration to those around him. John's warm heart and generous spirit endeared him to all who knew him. To know Johny was to love him, and know you were loved by him, as well. He was known for his infectious laughter, his knack for storytelling, and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and quick wit, brightening even the darkest of days with his infectious laughter. His hugs were legendary, giving much needed comfort and reassurance to those lucky enough to receive them. In addition to his many talents and passions, John was a dedicated Texas Rangers fan, cheering on his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm. When he wasn’t cheering on his team to a World Series win, he enjoyed playing softball with coworkers, and took great pride in coaching and supporting his sons in baseball, always cheering them on as their number one fan. John's love for life's simple pleasures included indulging in McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, a guilty pleasure he savored with delight. His culinary adventures extended beyond fast food, as he enjoyed watching cooking shows and experimenting with recipes in his own kitchen. He found joy in sharing and swapping recipes with his work buddies, bonding over their shared love for good food. In his downtime, John cherished spending quality time with family and friends, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love. Whether he was tinkering in his shop, known for his handiwork and attention to detail, driving thru for yet another Fish O’Filet, or offering his trademark best hugs to those in need of comfort, John's presence radiated warmth and affection - a presence that will be remembered, always. A lover of animals, John had a special place in his heart for his dogs, finding solace in their loyal companionship. John's remarkable intellect, coupled with his handiness and versatility, made him a jack of all trades in every sense of the phrase. His passion for history fueled his thirst for knowledge, and he delighted in sharing fascinating tidbits and stories with anyone willing to listen. John's remarkable qualities extended to his ability to listen with empathy and understanding. He was a trusted confidant and compassionate friend, always ready to lend an ear to those in need. Whether offering words of wisdom or simply providing a comforting presence, John's attentive nature made him a pillar of support for his loved ones. John Forshee will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He is preceded by his parents, John L. and Patsy (Abercrombie) Forshee. Survivors include his wife, Cindi Forshee of New London, to whom he was married on November 18, 1989; sons, John Ryan Forshee and his companion Trent Faucheux of Chicago, Illinois, Jace Thomas Forshee and fiancé Kylie Raymond of Overton, and Roman Sawyer Forshee of New London; sisters, Kaye Arnold and husband Randy of New London, and Dona Branton and husband Ronnie of Antlers, Oklahoma; Brother in Law Billy Witherspoon of Arp; Sister by Choice Karen Massey of Liberty City; Brother by choice Mike Bryan of Henderson, Texas; and one grandchild on the way.
