Mrs. Jenny Marwil Hardy

Mrs. Jenny Marwil Hardy, 83, of Henderson, passed from this life on February 2, 2024 at Christus Trinity Mother Francis in Tyler. She was born February 18, 1940, in Henderson to the late Leo and Lena (Stone) Marwil. In 1958, Jenny graduated from Henderson High School – and remained faithful to her alma mater in her involvement following graduation as well as to her classmates, where she regularly checked in on classmates and attending all reunions. Jenny would move from her hometown, and live in Houston for several years until returning home to Henderson in the late 1980’s. On December 31, 1988, Jenny married the love of her life, Mr. “Sonny” Hardy, and the two would live in bliss for nearly 32 long and happy years. During Jenny’s lifetime she worked with an engineering firm as well as for Quail Valley Elementary School in Missouri City. She would later retire as a mail carrier. However, more than that, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, wife and friend. She was an avid traveler along with her groom, where the two would enjoy several trips in their motor home; often, you would find the two discovering more of the beautiful Amish country that they loved to visit. When Jenny wasn’t traveling or keeping in contact with her old classmates’ happenings, she was a proud grandmother and loved spending as much time keeping up with her grandchildren’s sporting events. Jenny was a proud fan of her grandchildren, as well the Arp High School Football team; every year without fail, you would also find her at the state baseball tournament. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, L.D. “Sonny” Hardy; and grandson, Grey Medlin. Left to cherish Jenny’s memory are her daughters, Jeana VanDyke and her husband Jody of Huntsville, and Beth Medlin of Sugar Land; step-children, David Hardy and his wife Valerie of Flint, and Lori Padgett of Tyler; six grandchildren, Bailey Bilderback and her husband Dillon, Nate VanDyke and his wife Bailey, Price Medlin and his wife Mary Katherine, Rowe Medlin and his fiancé Nicole, Nick Hardy and his wife Kim, and Breanna Padgett; along with several great-grandchildren.
