Geneva Irwin Willard

Memorial services for Mrs. Geneva Irwin Willard, 83, of Henderson, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Luckert officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson. Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Willard passed away October 3, 2011 in Henderson. She was born August 24, 1928 in the Crims Chapel Community to the late Walter Newton and Mattie Belle Walton Irwin and was a life long resident of Henderson. Geneva was the seventh of eight children in the family. She attended Crims Chapel schools and graduated from Henderson High School in 1945. She also attended one year of business school in Henderson. She was one of the Angelettes of the 11th Airborne Division. Geneva was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and the sanctuary choir and taught four year old Sunday School for years. She was also a charter member of the PALS Sunday School class. Mrs. Willard was a member of the Henderson Women's Forum and was on the administrative board of the Henderson Campfire Organization. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: brothers, Wilton, Forrest, Edelle, and Wayland Irwin; and sisters, Ruby Hudson and Marie Ashby. Survivors include: husband, Billy Willard of Henderson; daughters, Susan Hensley and husband Kenny of Austin, and Beth Miller and husband Thomas of Dallas; grandchildren, Jamie Hensley and wife Trinity of New Braunfels, Wesley Hensley and wife Kelly of Hutto, and Travis Miller of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Tripp and Brandt Hensley of New Braunfels, and Hannah and Hudson Hensley of Hutto; big sister, Lavelle Scarborough of Henderson; in-laws, Cyndy Willard, Lillian Irwin, and Earl Hudson; and many loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jamie Hensley, Wesley Hensley, Travis Miller, Barry Willard, Trey Hacker, and Jeff Young. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the PALS Sunday School class.
