Mr. Danny Courcier

James Daniel “Danny” Courcier, 73, of Selman City, TX, returned to his heavenly home on August 22, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. His love for his family and firm belief in God gave him strength and peace during his illness. Danny was born to the late William Frank “Jiggs” Courcier, Sr, and Lailah Beatrice Bethune Courcier in Overton, TX, on June 22, 1950. He was blessed with a large and loving family, and was married for 44 years to his best friend, Lynn Courcier. Together, they raised three daughters. Danny served his country in Vietnam as PFC and Crew Chief in the US Army, then graduated from Kilgore College. He was a Master Certified auto diesel mechanic and enjoyed his craft, working on anything he could get his hands on while excelling at his career and highly recognized. He also loved to fish and spend time at the lake. Danny was an active member, and former Lay Minister, of Selman City Christian Church, always beaming with adoration in knowing that his grandmother was a founding member. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona and Steven Humphrey (Barling, AR), Amanda and Tony Goff (Alto, TX), and Angela Lane (Tyler, TX). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Tanner and Morgan Goff Hopson, Mary Goff, and Megan, Matthew, Mason and Mollie Humphrey, a great-grandson, Ryder Hopson, and a great-granddaughter, Payton Anne Hopson. Also, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Jerry Schwab (Amarillo, TX), JoAnn Bradshaw (Conway, AR), and Michael Sullivan (Overton, TX). Danny also has numerous nieces and nephews who adored his sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Courcier, a sister, Doris Sullivan, and a brother, William Frank “Billy Frank” Courcier, Jr. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2pm at Selman City Christian Church, Turnertown, TX. Danny will be interned at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Henderson, TX. Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons Matthew and Mason Humphrey, and Tanner Hopson, also church youth members, Andrik Rocha, and Brent Anderson.
