Mrs. Barbara Sanders Jolley

While surrounded by loved ones, Barbara Lynn Jolley age 83 joined her beloved sons on the anniversary date of their passing August 13, due to complications following heart surgery in Tyler, TX. Barbara was born February 21, 1942 to H. A. “Red” Sanders and Nadine Husband Sanders in Henderson, TX. Barabara was a life-long resident of Henderson where she was a 1960 graduate of Henderson High School. She and late husband Joe Jolley raised their three boys first on East Main and later on Evans St where she resided for the past 53 years. Barbara retired from Brookshire Brothers after 28 years of service before beginning a new job as a phone system operator for the Bradshaw State Jail. That role led to her last place of employment as a phone operator for then Citizens National Bank where her family affectionately called her the “voice of Citizens.” She retired from what is now known as Vera Bank in 2015. Her greatest loves in life were her three sons, grandchildren and great-grand children. In addition, she enjoyed holidays, cooking and family gatherings. As an accomplished cook, her famous chicken & dumplings, “Coke Cake” and homemade hot sauce were shared many times with family and friends.. She was a faithful Christian and enjoyed attending church with her special friend Hal Hunt at Calvary Baptist Church. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, H.A. “Red” and Nadine Sanders, brother Wayne Sanders, husband of 38 years, Joe Jolley and sons Chris Jolley and Kevin Jolley. She is survived by son Joe Jolley and wife Cindy of Skiatook, OK, daughter-in-law, Becky Jolley Massengale and Thad, of Henderson, TX, daughter-in-law Andrea Jolley Seale and John of Longview, TX and special friend Hal Hunt of Henderson, TX; eight Grand children: Katy Jolley Cunningham and Eddie and Mike Jolley and Kayla all of Skiatook, OK, Blane Jolley and Loree of Willis TX, Janey Jolley Pool of Henderson, TX, Dylan Jolley and Gretchen of Dallas, TX, Wade Massengale and Brookelle of Spring, TX, and Molly Seale and Bryan Seale of Longview, TX. In addition, nine Great-Grand children; Gracie and Abbie Jo Cunningham, Hannah and Henley Jolley, Bailey Jolley, Josie and Matthew Pool, Anderson Jolley and Hutchinson Jolley expected in December. A “Celebration of Life” will take place Saturday, August 23 at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, TX. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. A private family committal will be immediately following the service at the funeral home.
