Mrs. Tommie Jack Perry

Funeral services for Tommie Jack (TJ) Perry, 84, of Church Hill, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Church Hill Methodist Church with Rev. David Luckert officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - service time at the church. Tommie Jack went to meet her Lord and Savior on July 14, 2023. She died peacefully at her home in Church Hill, surrounded by her family. She was born in Wood County, Texas to Louise and Perry Hughes. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Wilton Pool Perry, and her three sisters, Perry Lou Jennings, Claudine Curbo, and Beverly Partin. She has one living sibling, her brother, Connie Mack Hughes. Many a good time was had with her sisters. They loved playing cards, and the delighted cackles that came from them as they played provide wonderful memories to all who knew them. They also loved to travel, embarking on grand adventures together and with their mother. Tommy Jack loved to dance - and dance she did, any chance that she got. Through marriage, she was blessed with a wonderful second family. Her sisters-in-law, Rena Kate Smith, Geniece Perry, Barbara Perry, Mittie Ann Perry, Barbara Curbo, and Denise Hughes were all sisters to her as well. She shared a strong mutual affection with her brothers-in-law, Wayne Perry, John Ben Perry, Ed Perry, Avery Partin, Charles Ray Curbo, and Wayne Jennings. Together they provided her with a slew of nieces and nephews: Fran, Cathy, Sandra, Stan, Cindy, Mark, Angela, Michael, Susan, Melissa, Mathew, Bubba, O'Brien, Kevin, Stacey, Kelly, Wes, Sharon, Mandy, and Clayton. She cherished them all, and they loved their aunt TJ right back. Family was everything to her. She regularly hosted Thanksgiving with her Hughes family through the years. She was incredibly close with her mother-in-law, Mary Isabel Perry, and many wonderful Christmas holidays were spent with all the Perrys gathered together at Grandmother's house - the house where Tommy Jack and Wilton eventually settled and raised their own children. The house still rings with all the good times and happy memories made there. Tommie Jack was an active member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church for 50 years, where she led the singing for many of those 50 years. Her Church family was her family and she was loved by all. She was also a contributor for the church's monthly newsletter, the Circuit Rider, while it remained in circulation. Mama never met a stranger. Whether at Walmart or the grocery store, she would start up a conversation with someone she did not know and, by the time they parted ways, she would know their story. She was a people lover and always had a compliment to give. Tommie Jack's loving and generous heart remains a beacon to all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her brother, Connie Mack Hughes; her eldest daughter, Nichole and husband Mike Bullock, grandchildren Zach and Jake Bullock and Logan and Luke Anderson, of Scottdale, AZ; son David Perry, Suellen Perry, grand-children Atlanta and Scott Brumitt, Autumn, Austin, Jack and Joshua Perry, of Church Hill, TX; daughter SyRena and husband Tony Witt, and grandchildren Gus, Sam, Isabell, and Maurine Witt of Kilgore, TX; daughter Monica Hancock and husband Chuck Hancock of Church Hill; and great-grandchildren Parker and Lily Brumitt. Pallbearers are Stan Smith, Kevin Curbo, Darin Thomas, Dean Roy, Michael Perry, Mark Perry, Mathew Jennings, Sr., Kin Bryan, Clayton Hughes, J. Wes Jennings, and O'Brien Jennings. A special note from Nichole, David, and SyRena: Mama and Daddy made the epitome of a family home. They were devoted to each other and taught us the most important of lessons of life: Love, Jesus, Love Family. We are forever indebted to them for the example they lived every day. WE LOVE YOU MAMA!!
