October 17, 2000 - May 18, 2017
Our sweet Sarah Paige left our world unexpectedly as the result of an automobile accident on May 18, 2017. She was 16 years old and full of joy and ambition. Sarah Paige was born on October 17, 2000 and raised in Tatum, Texas. She was a sophomore at Tatum High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader, active in yearbook and debate, a National Honor Society member and in the top 10 percent of her class. She was also a member of the Church of Lake Cherokee and cherished her annual mission trips and other opportunities to give back through her faith to the community. Sarah Paige loved her family and friends fiercely. She displayed this love through overwhelming kindness and quiet confidence. She was articulate, vibrant and found joy in making other people happy. Everyone loved her corny jokes and her silly puns. Her beautiful smile would light up a room and raise everyone’s spirits. Sarah Paige absolutely adored her family more than anything. She loved cheering on her cousins at their sporting events and counted down the days to big family gatherings at holidays. She consistently put others before herself and made her parents and her grandparents so proud. She was curious about the world around her, and she dreamed of going to a top college, with hopes of entering the medical field and traveling the world. She loved being on the beach with her family and friends and wanted to own a beach house one day. She was gifted with exceptional creative abilities, including a love for doing makeup and hair. Sarah Paige is survived by her loving parents Chad and Suzy Swanson, stepsister Alena Swanson, and grandparents C. Larry and Nancy Smith of Tatum and Rocky and Diane Swanson of Gilmer. Her beloved aunts and uncles surviving her are Tate and Tiffany Smith of Tatum, Curt and Alicia Smith of Tatum, Mark Swanson of Burleson, and Staci Swanson of Gilmer. She will be dearly missed by her cousins Cannon, Caroline, Addison, Gentry, and Darby Tate Smith of Tatum, great aunts and uncles, and many more family members and dear friends. There will be a viewing held Sunday, May 21, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Tatum High School Auditorium. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. at the Tatum High School Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sarah Paige Scholarship Fund, which has been set up through the Tatum Ex-Students Association. Donations can be made through the Citizens National Bank or mailed to the Tatum Ex-Students Association, P.O. Box 975, Tatum, Texas 75691. Sarah Paige was so very loved and brought so much joy to those around her. She will be with us always. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
