Funeral services for Mrs. Lenora Fay Jones Evans, 90, of Good Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Marc Sharp officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Evans passed from this life on April 21, 2022, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler. She was born June 17, 1931, in Gallatin to the late Rufus and Nora (Jenkins) Jones and spent most of her life in Good Springs. Mrs. Evans graduated from Gallatin High School and attended the Tyler School of Business. She later embarked upon a long career with Carlisle I.S.D. as a teacher's aide for the Kindergarten class and working with Title IX. She had a gift for working with children. Lenora was also a den mother for Cub Scouts. Mrs. Evans was a long time member of Sardis Baptist Church where she was very active. She taught Sunday School and was involved with WMA and the Joy Group. She was also a gifted seamstress and talented cook, and she could sew anything and bake the perfect pie. Her friends and family would say that she had the patience of Job, and she enjoyed being the perfect mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Albert Hatley Evans; daughter, Robin Smith; grandson, Evan Evans; great-grandsons, Kade Hughes and Noah Walton; and her siblings, Dewey Jones, Gerald Jones, and Glenda Kay Ferrell. Survivors include her children, Benny Evans and wife Mary Jo of Whitehouse, Beth Maloney of Henderson, Renee' Cloud and husband Terry of Hallsville, Kay Williams and husband Stephen of Lorena, and Ken Evans and wife Felicia of Good Springs; siblings, Hazel Wright of San Marcos, twin brother, Rufus Ray Jones and wife Rose Mary of Gallatin, and Carroll Wayne Jones and wife Sandy of Timpson; 15 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other family who considered her Mom, and Granny. Pallbearers will be Collin Hughes, Blake Evans, Lance Maloney, Adam Maloney, Samuel Smith, Benjamin Johnson, Aaron Williams, Caleb House, Landon Evans, and Quentin Evans.
