Mr. John Hinsley Sr.

December 28, 1933 - March 22, 2021

Graveside services for Mr. John Hinsley Sr., 87, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021, at New Prospect Cemetery with his loving family officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before the service at the cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, masks or face coverings are strongly recommended, however not required, for the health and safety of all those in attendance for a visitation or service. Mr. Hinsley passed from this life on March 22, 2021, at UT Health East Texas in Tyler. He was born December 28, 1933, in Floyd County to the late Bud and Ora (Robertson) Hinsley and has lived in Henderson since 1979. Mr. Hinsley owned and operated his own insurance agency and enjoyed farming as well. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed talking about the weather. John was also humorous and loved to joke around. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Evan Evans and Josh Rogers; and all of his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of nearly 37 years, Retha Hinsley of Henderson; son, Johnny Hinsley and wife Glenda of Tyler; daughters, Sherry McCullogh of Antonito, Colorado, Elaine Silk and husband Bill of Conroe, Teresa Taylor of Houston, and Felicia Evans and husband Ken of Henderson; grandchildren, Jana, Judson, Hannah, Anna, Savannah, Aaron, Brandon, Landon, Quentin, Meagan, and Larry; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Judson Hinsley, Aaron Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Landon Evans, Quentin Evans, and Larry Freeney. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
