Mr. Jerry L. Nix Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Mr. Jerry L. Nix, 75, of Mt. Enterprise, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Darrel Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Mr. Nix passed from this life on November 14, 2020, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1945, in Houston to the late JD Nix Jr. and Elizabeth (Worbington) Nix and lived most all of his life in Mt. Enterprise. Jerry graduated from Mt. Enterprise High School in 1963. He spent a career with and retired from Continental Can Company after 29 years of service and later worked for a short time at the Rusk County Jail and in Precinct 3. After his second retirement, Jerry got into livestock and working cattle. He enjoyed a good western and loved Gunsmoke. Mr. Nix was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Enterprise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, and Randy Nix. Survivors include his children, Jeff Nix and wife Maureen of Holly Lake Ranch, and Kim Reeves and husband Ricky of Mt. Enterprise; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Tommy Hemphill, Moni Tabch, Josh Hays, Mike Risinger, Cliff Weems, and Zach Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Bassett, Charles Orr, and John T. Heath IV.
