Graveside services for Mr. James E. Scritchfield, 92, of Henderson, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 at New Prospect Cemetery, with Rev. Joe Orr officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m, Sunday, Dec. 10 at the funeral home. Mr. Scritchfield passed away December 7, 2017, at Henderson Health and Rehab. He was born Sept. 15, 1925 in Frankston, to the late William Henry and Mary Jane Scritchfield. He was the last surviving sibling in his family. James served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a retired truck driver for Red Ball Motor Freight. He was a loving father and his “Shug’s” best friend and rock, truly a daddy’s girl and one of a kind papa. He loved bluegrass and country music. He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan. He had a great love for dominos and represented Rusk County in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in the early nineties. He was preceded in death by his son, Sammy Hendrix. Survivors include: wife Diane Scritchfield of Henderson; daughters, Angela Scritchfield Boyette and husband Jimmie of Henderson, Kimberly Hendrix; grandson Logan Mohr of Henderson, granddaughters Carly Smith of Kilgore and Cassidy Smith-Barbee of Colorado; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jimmie Boyette, James Brady, Noah Johnson, Logan Mohr, Kevin Lockridge, and Daryl Fisher. Honorary pallbearer will be Colton Wilson.
