Mrs. Glenda "MeMaw" Hand Howard

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda “MeMaw” Hand Howard, 72, of Henderson and Palestine, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Roquemore Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Best and Bruce Hand officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Following the service, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2022, at Bassett Road Baptist Church in Palestine. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday, April 4, 2022 at Roquemore Baptist Church. Mrs. Howard passed from this life on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Tyler. She was born on August 5, 1949 in Henderson to the late Preston “Hix” and Mildred Estelle Mauritzen Hand. Mrs. Howard retired after 21 years of service as an Educational Paraprofessional in the Westwood Independent School District. She was also a member and the pianist for Bassett Road Baptist Church in Palestine for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston “Hix” and Mildred Estelle Mauritzen Hand. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Donald Howard of Palestine; daughters, Lynde Cheek and husband Ron of Palestine, and Leanna Roseberry and husband Byron of Terrell; sisters, Carol Best and husband David, Cathy Pride and husband John, Gail Gibson and husband Bill, all of Henderson; brother, Kevin Hand and wife Jennifer of Nederland; grandchildren, Bobby and Cheyanne Mayo, Billy and Mary Howard, Rose and Greg Vickery, Jr., Courtney Roseberry, and Kaylee Roseberry; great-grandchildren, Braighlyn Mayo, Gracelyn Mayo, Shaelyn Mayo, Donnie Wardell, Calvin Vickery, and Sam Vickery. Pallbearers will be Ron Cheek, Byron Roseberry, Billy Howard, Bobby Mayo, Greg Vickery, Jr., Tyler Wardell, and James Best. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Mayo and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
