Mrs. Glenda Kay Harris

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Kay Harris, 62, of Henderson, will be held at 10 am Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at South Main Church of Christ with Bro. Bob Payne and Bro. Leroy Sedgwick officiating. Interment will follow in Neeley Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at the funeral home. Glenda Kay Harris of Henderson, Texas suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on Friday, September 20th and passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, October 13, 2013, in the presence of her adoring husband of 44 years and devoted Sister Sharon. She was deeply loved by all her family and friends. Glenda graduated from Henderson High School in 1968. She quickly fell in love and married Dicky Harris on August 23rd, 1969. She also received a certificate in Business Administration from Kilgore College in 1970. Glenda truly enjoyed God’s beauty in nature. She loved to embark on adventures visiting places she had not been before like England and Hawaii as well as beautiful scenic motorcycle rides with her sweetheart. Whether in her backyard pool or wading in the ocean, Glenda loved being in the water. Glenda was immensely talented and blessed others with her crafts of various types, sewing skills and breath-taking oil paintings. From playing and singing with The Break-time Band, assisting her husband, Dicky, with wedding photography to collecting various types of stone eggs; Glenda enjoyed life to the fullest. Glenda also took pleasure in gardening and making her yard and home a welcoming place for family and friends. The best things in life for Glenda included bargain shopping, cooking, candle making, reading, and decorating. Her beautiful handwriting graced many cards attached to her masterfully designed floral arrangements she created in her self-owned and operated Glenda’s Florist and Gifts. Glenda loved spoiling her grandkids and having all her family over to enjoy her delicious cooking and took such joy in having them all around her table playing games. Those left to cherish her memories are her parents, Taylor and Toni Whitehead of Henderson, Texas, her sister Sharon Whitehead Jett of Tyler, Texas, brother Randy and Billy Jean Whitehead of Henderson, Texas, her husband and best friend, Dicky Harris of Henderson, Texas and her three sons: Kevin and Debbie Harris of Farmers Branch, Texas, Ryan and Hannah Harris of Harrah, Oklahoma and Logan and Myra Harris of Henderson and her six precious grandchildren: Keegan, Landon, Isabella, Decklan, Ally, and Elijah and many other extended family members. Glenda was spontaneous, playful, artistic, thoughtful, organized and hospitable. Her presence will be sincerely missed and she will be loved by all those who’ve enjoyed her company. Pallbearers will be Steve Moore, Mike Armstrong, Kerry Buckner, Andy Hampton, Jack Duplichan, and Curtis Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be James Hardy, John Sanders, Gary Haygood, Randy Fletcher, and Steven Goode.
