Mr. Tommy Jimerson

Thomas Ralph Jimerson, age 83, entered his heavenly home on January 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He was born on November 29 ,1941, to the late George Carroll and Katie Joplin Jimerson. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was his infant sister, Carolyn Jimerson and an infant grandchild, Mackenzie Jimerson. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Janice Young Jimerson; his three sons, Theron Jimerson, Scott Jimerson and wife Karen Jimerson, and Todd Jimerson; his beloved grandchildren Caleb and Shelby Jimerson, Cora Jimerson, Devin and Wells Deleon, Ryan Jimerson, Kennedy Jimerson, Morgan Jimerson, and three great grandchildren, Mara Blagburn, Miles Deleon, and Joni Cravey; also two sisters-in-law, Kay Butler and husband Bill, Sandra Easterling and husband Robert; and five special nephews, Pierce Butler, Rob Butler, Eric Edmondson, Mark Edmondson, and Trey Young. Tommy was a 1960 graduate of Henderson High School, then attended Stephen F. Austin State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. As a student attending SFA, he worked part time for Henderson Clay Products. Later, his banking career began at first National Bank, Henderson, TX. He retired in 2007 from Citizens National Bank after spending over 38 years in the banking industry. Tommy was an active member of First Baptist church until his health declined. He was involved in many different ministries. He was a deacon, former Sunday school teacher, active in youth programs and on various committees. The joy of his serving the Lord was being part of the “Volunteer Christian Builders” group who traveled once a year to various states, building and remodeling churches. Although a banker by profession, he was a “tinkerer” by nature, as he could build, re-build, anything mechanically, and was a creative craftsman. He bestowed this ability to all three sons that are uniquely gifted in different areas. He was fondly known as “Shade Tree”, always working on multiple projects in his shop. He always enjoyed the process of a project rather than the finished product. Tommy looked forward to the Heritage Syrup Festival each year, willing to help at the “Cotton Gin” and anywhere else needed. He especially enjoyed being a part of the Antique Tractor Club. Friends always enjoyed seeing his 1937 “Orange Cletrac tractor!” Tommy will always be cherished by his family and friends, and we know we’ll meet again someday in our Heavenly Home! Graveside services for Mr. Jimerson will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Ebenezer with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Sunday, February 2, at the funeral home. In addition, please feel free to visit the family in the home in the days following the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jimerson, Milton McGee, Caleb Jimerson, Ryan Jimerson, Johnny Glasscock, Lee Hall, and Blake Blackwell.
