Mrs. Shirley Guytine Nolan Holland

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Guytine Nolan Holland, 87, of Henderson, will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Lane and Rev. Bill Kuykendall officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Creek Cemetery, in Northeast Smith County, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Mrs. Holland passed from this life to her home in Heaven on August 13, 2026, in Longview. She was born on April 20, 1939, in Rosenberg to the late Wilson and Beatrice (Maxwell) Guytine. Shirley graduated from Gaston High School in 1957 and went on to attend Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mrs. Holland would later help run the family businesses, the Handy Pantry in Elderville and Mr. J’s in Henderson. She was previously a resident of Winona, Texas and has lived in Henderson for the last 12 years. Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson and was an incredible woman of faith who loved the Lord. Shirley brought warmth and love to everyone she encountered. She was a strong, fierce, happy, funny, elegant lady. If she was awake, she was singing. She was a true light to others. She was the epitome of Philippians 4:11 ..."for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." She loved and served her Jesus with great fervor and even her last words were of her precious Savior. She forgave quickly and moved on, and she made laying your burdens down at Jesus' feet look effortless. She was a great prayer warrior and example to all. She will be greatly missed by many who crossed her path. To know her was to love her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years James E. Nolan Sr. and her son Ronald Scott Nolan. Survivors include her husband Robert Holland of Henderson; son James E. Nolan Jr. of Hallsville; daughter Sherri Nolan of Winona; brother and sisters Robert “Bub” Guytine and wife JoAnne of Swansea, South Carolina, Sylvia Coon of Whitehouse, Sharlot Guytine of Henderson, and Elaine Guytine of Garland; grandchildren Ashley Nolan, Kourtney Nolan, and Cody Nolan and wife Lauren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Robert’s loving children and grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The Nolan and Holland families wish to express their sincere gratitude to Tanya Toler, who has been a second daughter to Mrs. Holland, for all of her love and care for Shirley throughout the years and in this last chapter of her life.
