Mrs. Sara Ross

Graveside services for Mrs. Sara Ross, 84, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Strong Cemetery Pavillion with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Mrs. Ross passed from this life on June 29, 2025, at her residence. She was born March 22, 1941, in Henderson, where she resided most all of her life, to the late Ty and Geraldine (Blalock) O'Neal. Sara devoted her life to education and taught in Houston and Tyler before spending the last 30 years with Henderson ISD. Mrs. Ross taught Title 1 special education at Central Elementary and Montgomery Elementary from which she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, riding 4-wheelers, gardening, and making sure the birds and squirrels in her yard were WELL fed. Sara was social by nature and talked to anyone and everyone she knew. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and attending any and all events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. Mrs. Ross was an active, life-long member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She was preceded in death by her mother Geraldine O'Neal, her father Ty O'Neal and his wife Doris, and her son Jim Ross. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James B. Ross of Henderson; daughter, Jana Ross Enloe and husband Johney of Henderson; special family, Ray Batchelor and wife Debbie of Henderson, and Suzette Cook and husband Jack of Henderson; grandchildren, Savanna Hudspeth and husband Joshua of Longview, Ty Landrum and wife Kiera of Caldwell, Bristyn and Kierstyn Enloe of Henderson, Malea Muller and husband Nick of Midlothian, and Bailey Enloe and Trent of Lindale; great-grandchildren, Layton, Marsali, Ella, Nathaniel, and Naomi; as well as a host of other family and many friends. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hudspeth, Johney Enloe, Kevin Freeney, Ty Landrum, Tommy Strong, and David Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Ross, Burl Richards, and Greg Gibson.
