Mr. Milton Allen

Funeral services for Mr. Milton Allen, 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Selman City Christian Church with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson. Mr. Allen passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 in Kilgore after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Turnertown, Texas to Tommy Milton and Mary Lizzie (Richmond) Allen. Milton was a proud Gaston Red Devil, and graduated from Gaston High School in 1955. After high school, he met the love of his life, Walta, and moved to and raised his family in Overton. Milton was a hard worker and spent his entire career working in the East Texas oilfield. He worked for Tretolite for thirty years and after his retirement, he became an independent contractor, and he was still working as an independent pumper at May Pipe in Overton until Easter of this year. Milton enjoyed starting his day with his friends at the donut shop or having breakfast with his Tretolite buddies. He also cherished all the time he got to spend with his family, and enjoyed spoiling them all. Milton was a member of Selman City Christian Church and loved to serve in any way he could, including serving as both an Elder and Deacon, made the coffee, mowed the lawn, and brought donuts among many other things. He was the epitome of charity, and would help anyone in need, whether it was someone on the side of the road, in need of a handout, or through organizations such as St. Jude’s. Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Walta Allen; and his parents, Tommy and Mary Allen. Survivors include his daughters, Debra Sue Lynch and husband Bob, Periann Crane and husband Steve; grandchildren, Amy Carter, Patrick Lynch, Taylor Carter and wife Ashley, Erica Felts and husband James, Cameron Crane and wife Taylor; great-grandchildren, Amara Leftwich, Lily Lynch, Julia Lynch, Avery Carter, Nolan Carter, Everett Carter, Parker Crane, and one on the way. Pallbearers are Dustin Bates, Greg Brown, Richard May, Ronnie Richmond, Cody Smith, and Milton Yourey. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
