Mr. Michael S. Moore

Funeral services for Mr. Michael S. Moore, 69, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Dr. David Higgs officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday, at the funeral home. Mr. Moore passed from this life on May 6, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 8, 1955, in Henderson to the late Cecil and Martha (Geiger) Moore and was a life-long resident of Rusk County. Michael retired as a bulldozer operator for Luminant, formerly Texas Utilities, and in his spare time he built swings for his family and friends. He was a welder before he built swings. He loved to spend time in his own swing in the front yard, and he loved to hunt and fish. He has probably fished all the lakes in East Texas. He loved going to the trade days and loved going out to eat and not to mention the scratch off lottery tickets. Mr. Moore had a special relationship with his grandchildren. He bought the boys, Miles and Hayden, their first rifle and would take them out on car rides all over East Texas so they could drive and get hours for their driver’s license. Audrey loved her PawPaw and they loved to picked at each other. She said he would come over and stare at her then he would start talking and not shut up. They had a very special bond and she could talk him into doing anything she wanted. Michael also had a very close relationship with his niece Kelsey. If he wasn’t at Nathan and Melissa’s house every day or week, he was texting or calling. Nathan and Michael were so close. He would come over for dinner all the time, and they had their weekly night out meal at Don Felix. He always had a story to tell Nathan, and it would normally start off this way “Junior, look a here.” He and Nathan called each other “Junior.” He was a great teacher and loved to use his hands and teach the boys how to build things and even weld. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Cecil Wayne Moore Jr. Survivors include his son, Nathan Moore and wife Melissa of Henderson; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Lisa Moore of Mt. Enterprise; grandchildren, Miles and Hayden Moore, and Audrey Moore of Henderson; and niece, Kelsey Moore of Mt. Enterprise. Honorary Pallbearers are Miles Moore, Hayden Moore, Audrey Moore, and Kelsey Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the King Cemetery Association at PO Box 481, Mt.
