Mr. Kenneth Davis

Celebration of Life services for Kenneth Edward Davis, age 69, of Henderson, Texas, will be held at Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating. Family and close friends will gather at Kelly Davis’ home following the services. Kenneth died on July 18th, 2024 at home in Henderson, Texas. He was born on March 16, 1955 in Henderson, TX to the late Clara Lynn and Robert “Bobby” Lee Davis. Kenneth resided in Henderson, Texas his whole life. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in his youth, along with his sister Suzan and brother Larry. He worked for 14 years at Eastman and was the local “tree man” for 35 years. He was known for his love of the outdoors and was passionate about both coon hunting and fishing in his spare time. No one appreciated the loyalty of a good coon dog quite like him. Kenneth was a loving father and proud grandfather. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his children, grandchildren, and dog Jack. If there was a good Western on, especially one with John Wayne, Kenneth was in front of the TV. One quality Kenneth had in spades was empathy. No matter what someone struggled with, he was both a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. When Kenneth’s sons struggled, he was there for them. He understood their pain and had an innate awareness of what they needed to hear in order to ease their hearts. His big heart and forgiving nature meant that Kenneth had many friends in life. He was fully present in all moments of life, not scrolling through a phone or thinking of what is next. Kenneth never met a stranger. He had a big personality and was a lot of fun. The many friends Kenneth made over the years are a testament to his loving kindness. His smile and laugh were infectious. Kenneth Edward Davis was preceded in death by both of his parents, Clara Lynn Johnson Davis Schur and Robert “Bobby” Lee Davis, as well as his brothers Thomas Edward and Larry Kevin Davis. Kenneth is survived by his loving canine companion Jack; one sister, Suzan Van-Leeson of Pasadena, TX; son, Kevin Lee Davis and wife Brandy of Henderson, TX; son, Christopher Bryan Davis and partner Candice Maddox of Henderson, TX; son, Kelly Alan Davis of Henderson, TX; grandchildren: Brittney Isaac Carroll, Kaylee Anna Arnold, Christopher Hunter Davis, Kennadi Faith Davis, Tanner Alan Davis, and Tessa Nicole Davis; best friend Billy Webster; as well as many nieces and nephews.
