Funeral services for Kaelan Michele Klostermeier, 15, of Henderson, will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in the chapel of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, June 21 at the funeral home. Kaelan Michele Klostermeier was born on November 1st, 2000 in New London, Connecticut. She was granted her angel wings on June 18th, 2016 at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas following a lifetime of challenges. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Lola had touched throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Kaelan's life may seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her gained a lifetime of joy. Her unforgettable smile melted the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and emotions could always be heard. Although Kaelan's condition and physical challenges made her appear frail, she possessed courage, strength, perseverance, and the ability to overcome incredible odds. Being a "Military Brat", Kaelan became quite the avid traveler. She enjoyed her trips between Texas, Connecticut, Ohio, Arkansas and New Mexico. She loved being rocked while cuddling close to those she loved so much. She enjoyed listening to music and movies, being read to, and of course, like her parents, sleeping late. She loved the color purple and enjoyed the feel of different textures. One of her favorite and also noisiest activities began when her "Mee-Maw" got creative and tossed marbles into a tin pan. This led to hours of a house filled with ruckus and laughter. After cleanup, she would always be sure to leave a few behind that her family would find over the next few months in the most unlikely places. Although appearing fragile, she loved rough housing with her Uncle Chad and would always take him down in a fit of laughter. With Kaelan's passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. We will miss her everyday, especially her contagious smile. She will forever remain in the forefront of our hearts. Throughout her life we were able to create many wonderful memories. It has been a privilege and honor to be her parents. Kaelan leaves behind many wonderful caregivers who provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life and time we were able to share with her. There will forever be a special place in our hearts for Lola's second family; Greg, Julie and the Danielson crew, as well as her dedicated nurses, Holly and Amy. Because of their continuous love and support, Lola was able to survive some of her toughest medical challenges. The love and dignity they provided Kaelan left us and her family with a sense of comfort, confidence and peace knowing that she was in the best of hands. Our sweet, sweet Kaelan, From the day we met you, we knew this day would come. We could have never imagined the heartache this would bring or how extremely difficult it is, and will forever be as we say goodbye to you and try to adjust to life without our "Perfect Princess".
