Mr. Jimmy Dean "Bubba" Owens

Jimmy Dean Owens, 51, of the Sulfur Springs community near Mt. Enterprise, TX, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Jimmy Dean was born on Friday, October 4, 1974 to Jimmy and Janet Owens in Henderson, TX. He was affectionately called “Bubba” by his family and “Uncle Bubba” by his nieces and nephews. After Jimmy Dean graduated from Mt. Enterprise ISD in 1993, he went on to study Forestry at Panola College. He was a past Master Mason with the Cushing Lodge, #911, was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and was Chaplain for Major General Thomas L. Rosser Camp, #2311. Jimmy Dean was a devoted and faithful member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, where he served as its Deacon for many years. He loved his church and his church family. Also, he loved sports and the outdoors, as well as hunting and fishing with his brothers. He loved going Turkey hunting in South Texas with Travis. Most of all, Jimmy Dean loved sitting around the camp telling and listening to stories and being around his family and friends. He cherished that time at camp more than the hunt. Jimmy Dean loved his family with all of his heart, especially his nieces and nephews, and they loved him! Each of them had a special nickname that he gave them. Jimmy Dean was predeceased by his great-grandparents, Dufus and Gracie Owens; grandparents, Roy and Laura Helm and Max Owens. He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Janet Owens; grandmother, Rosa Owens; brothers, Jason Owens and wife Kelly, and Travis Owens and wife Kimberly; nieces and nephews, Kenslie Owens (K.B./Squirrel), Jake Owens (Big Jake), Kaydence Owens (HossFly), Scarlett Owens (Curley Locks), and Joshua Owens, (Best Friend). Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Sulphur Springs Missionary Baptist Church near Mt. Enterprise. Interment will follow at Lyles-Sanders Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the church. Pallbearers will be Jason Owens, Travis Owens, Jake Owens, Collin Reeves, Jesse Morris, Jon Williams, Brandon Jones, and Kevin Ash. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Owens, Scarlett Owens, Kenslie Owens, Kaydence Owens, Carlee Reeves, TJ Shafer, and Glenn Slack.
