Mrs. Jerri Sue Renfro Franks

A graveside celebration of life for Mrs. Jerri Sue Renfro Franks, 77, of Richardson, formerly of Turnertown, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Lakewood Memorial Park. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in Dallas from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Mattitos, located at 3102 Oaklawn Ave, Dallas, TX 75219. Mrs. Franks passed from this life on February 19, 2019, at Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano. She was born May 3, 1941, in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Gale Worley and Myrtle Modene (Harris) Renfro. Jerri has lived in Richardson since 1969 and had a successful career of over 40 years in public accounting in the Richardson/Dallas area.. Her full and happy life included growing up in the oil field camps in Turnertown where she and brother, Bill, played in the woods, built forts, and buried treasure (unfortunately, one of Myrt's gold bullion pieces)! At New London High School, she was a Majorette and twirler for the band. She was an officer in the International Order of Rainbow Girls. She was a voracious reader and instilled the love of reading in her kids and grandkids. The kids loved that she was always ready to snuggle up and read a story. In the 70's she caught the soccer bug and joined a women's soccer team. The team members were close friends and fierce competitors. Many family reunions with her siblings and their families were spent playing wild card games of Pitch, golf tournaments, and eating the family's fantastic cooking. Each reunion concluded with the famous Renfro kick and family song, "RENFRO Clan." She and Terry loved traveling, spending time with family, and playing golf. Beta Sigma Phi sorority played a huge role in Jerri's life. She was a member for 40 years and held every office at one time or another. She was chosen as Woman of the Year, Valentine's Sweetheart, and City Council Woman of the Year. Many treasured friendships with her sorority sisters bloomed in 1979. Jerri was a selfless wife, mother, and grandmother and did most everything in her life for us. She taught us to love, be kind and taught us we could be or do anything that we set our sites on. We will all miss her dearly. The family would like to thank everyone for their love, thoughts, and prayers. Special thanks to her niece, Vicky Wilson, for her constant care and support during the last months of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by baby son, JI Franklin; brothers, Bill and Ben Renfro; and sisters, Jolene Renfro Zoller and Colleen Renfro Wilson. Survivors include her husband, Terry Franks; daughters, Joni Gale Franklin Carpenter & Jennifer Lynn Franklin Nicholas & husband David; grandchildren, Andrew Kareklas, Garrett Nicholas, and Grace Nicholas; step-children, Melissa Stutts and husband Vernon and Michael Franks and wife Patty; step-grandchildren, Tommy Maitland and wife Michelle, Kristy Maitland, and Miranda Stutts; three great-grandchildren; beloved nieces, Vicky Wilson & Janea Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
