Ms. Janice McKinney Lee

A celebration of the life of Ms. Janice McKinney Lee, 76, of Henderson, will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 4, 2025, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Dr. David Higgs officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday, at the funeral home. Ms. Lee passed from this life on July 30, 2025, at her residence in Henderson with her loved ones by her side. She was born June 28, 1949, in Kilgore to the late John D. and Victory Peace (Bickley) McKinney. Jan was raised in the Pirtle Community of Rusk County and attended West Rusk Schools where she was a cheerleader and graduated in 1967. Jan stayed involved with her alma mater through the Alumni Association and served on several boards. In her working career, Ms. Lee dedicated 12 years to Preston Insurance Agency. Many friends and acquaintances also remember her from her many dedicated years with Henderson Memorial Hospital where she worked in Nursing Administration and later Human Resources. Jan retired from UT Health East Texas in Henderson in 2020. Ms. Lee was popular, to say the least, and well known in the community. She was the very definition of selfless love. She gave her time, energy, and heart freely to everyone without recognition or praise. Whether it was a kind word or simply being present when someone needed her most. Her love knew no limits and she made every person feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her vibrant spirit and generous heart were a gift to all who knew her. She was naturally charismatic and she radiated joy each and every day. Her personality and infectious smile made friends often and easily. She was sharp but gentle, funny and known for her flashy style. Traveling and shopping were also treasured past times yet she enjoyed the peace and quiet of sitting on the patio, watching the birds and squirrels, and nurturing her beautiful flowers. She absolutely loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ms. Lee had been a member of First Baptist Church for several years where she rededicated her life to Christ and was baptized. Her unwavering faith shined even in her final days where she knew without fear and felt assurance that God was with her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Jimmy Ray Moyers. Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Pritchard Vaught of Henderson. She was “Nana” to grandchildren Tara Lynn Davis and Cullen Keith Davis of Henderson, great-grandchildren Gunner Davis, Rhiannon Revels, Rowan Davis, Sutton Davis, and Zepplyn Hardy, and all of their friends as well. Jan is also survived by her sister and brother, Valerie McKinney Childress and husband John of Lake Tyler, and Jerry McKinney and wife Linda of Ft. Worth; her life-long best friend, Nancy Herrington; her treasured dogs, Little Bit and Bear; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
