Mrs. Jan M. Tipps

Funeral services for Mrs. Jan Marie Tipps, 81, of Brachfield, will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2024, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 11, at the funeral home. Mrs. Tipps passed from this life on July 10, 2024, at UT Health Henderson. She was born November 4, 1942, in Rusk County to the late Russell and Pauline Marie (Waldrop) Brooks and has lived all of her life in Rusk County. Years ago, Jan had worked for the sale barn where she met the love of her life Wayne, then moved on to Smith Chevrolet, and finally Hi-Way Building Supply before spending the majority of her life as a homemaker. While Wayne provided for the family, Jan made sure the family had a home. She was the ideal grandmother and attended as many games and events as she possibly could. She also enjoyed reading, tending to her flower beds, and was obsessed with taking pictures of, and for, her family. Jan has also been a member of Patrick Presbyterian Church for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Grady Wayne Tipps, and brothers-in-law Dale Tipps, and Lavelle Tipps and wife Claire. Survivors include her son, Toby Tipps and wife Melanie of Brachfield; sister, Kay Yates and husband Dewayne of Henderson; grandchildren, Brad Tipps and wife Lacie and their children Kory and Kasen of Brachfield, Callie Presley and husband Louis and their children Braylie and Tallyn of Alvin, Brittany Henry and husband Nick and their little boy Braxton on the way, Jordan Tipps, and Clayton Tipps, all of Brachfield; brother-in-law, Billy Don Tipps and wife Nora Ann, and sister-in-law, Patsy Tipps, all of Brachfield; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Katha Lock and Melinda Rice for their many years of friendship and tireless love and support, especially the last 2 months. Pallbearers will be Brad Tipps, Clayton Tipps, Kory Tipps, Blaine Morris, Kelly Vestal, and Dillon Quintero.
