Mrs. Grace Huneycutt Kittrell

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Huneycutt Kittrell, 93, of the Shake Rag community, will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2015 in the chapel of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Lane and Rev. Mark Sharp officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3 pm until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kittrell passed from this life on September 20, 2015 at ETMC Henderson. She was born December 12, 1921 in the Walnut Bend community near Gainesville, TX to the late Jim and Sarah (Deaton) Huneycutt. Mrs. Kittrell was a member of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Henderson Chapter #597. Grace always told her grandchildren that Ice Cream is good for you! They also remember her chasing a boy with a broom, telling him to get away from her cherry tree! As kids, they learned fast not to drink her orange juice, because she believed in ex lax. It's also been said that she made the best biscuits! Grace loved to shop and had her daughters and granddaughters beat with shopping! One of her granddaughters remembers her saying, "you be good," and they would reply, "you be good", then she would say, "I'm always good." Most everyone knew, maybe it came with age, that kids just kind of got on her nerves. One Sunday Grace attended Sardis Baptist Church, and sat right in front of a bunch of kids. Sue, a friend of the family, said she like to have fell out when Grace sat in front of those kids! Grace was a good Grandma, and she always let friends and family know that her grandchildren were a big help and she loved them. They will miss her deeply, but know in their hearts that she is happier in Heaven with Jesus our Savior than here on this earth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tip Irvin Kittrell; three brothers and seven sisters; and her favorite son-in-law, Rev. Donald R. Rivers. Survivors include: children, Laura Mozingo Rivers of Shake Rag, Irvin Kittrell of Mexico, Missouri, Ruby Friday of Amherst, Bobby Kittrell of Weatherford, Gene Kittrell of Littlefield, Doris Pierce of Sudan, Texas, Buster Jr. Kittrell of North Carolina, and Kenny Kittrell of Longview; sister, Ettie Thomas of Gainesville, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Winters, Chris Rivers, Jared Haydel, Trent Haydel, Olen D. Rivers Jr., and Michael Hieronimus. Honorary pallbearers will be Olen Rivers Sr., Collin Hieronimus, T.J.
