Mrs. Glenda "Jo" Blankenship Morrow

Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda "Jo" Blankenship Morrow, 84, of Henderson, will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Fred Bassett conducting. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday, at the church. Mrs. Morrow passed from this life on Sunday, January 21, 2024, in a Tyler hospital. She was born March 15, 1939, in Malakoff to the late Gene and Lorena (Truelove) Blankenship and was raised in Tatum, graduating from Tatum High School in 1957. She finished school as Valedictorian of her class and had been a majorette and was the drum major. She married the love of her life, John Morrow, on December 19, 1959, and together, they served as missionaries for 18 months in Tallahassee, Florida. Jo finished her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and received her Master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. After living in Duncanville for several years, the Morrow family moved to Henderson in 1984. Mrs. Morrow taught special education in Tatum ISD for 12 years before her retirement. Jo was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that survived cancer three times. She was a gifted artist and painter who was also a life-long learner and voracious reader. She was also Historian for the Rusk County Poetry Society and had recently been awarded the Poet of the Year. Mrs. Morrow has been a long-time, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Gary “Butch” Blankenship, Beverly Blankenship, and Marilyn Kay Blankenship, and great-grandson Everett Douglas Drake. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John D. Morrow of Henderson; children, Natalie Morrow Nichols and husband Tom of Price-Carlisle, Jon Kevin Morrow and partner DeDe Fullwood of Joinerville, Rebecca “Becca” Morrow Holland and husband Bobby of New Braunfels, James Thomas Morrow and significant other Jennifer McFarland of Winona, Andrew Jordan Morrow and wife Stephanie of Longview, and Anna Morrow Fulgham and husband Jonathan of Kilgore; honorary daughter, Karen Rains of Henderson. She was “Nonnie” to John, Rachel, Paul, James “Jimmy”, Casey, Shon, Joseph, Kaleb, Kenny, Jessi, Kayla, Shelby, Courtney, Kaylee, Jenna, Collin, Clayton, Aidan, Maddie, Jacob, Jordan, Julia, and Judson; 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Angela Kay Hess and husband Larry of Glenrose; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Pallbearers will be John Nichols, Shon Morrow, Joseph Morrow, Paul Nichols, James Nichols, Jacob McAuley, Kaleb Morrow, Judson Fulgham, and Aidan Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Nichols, Bobby Holland, Jonathan Fulgham, Jerry Drake, Andy Schryver, Collin Overman, Clayton Green, Rodney Morrow, and Mark Robertson.
