Mr. Glen Alewine

Funeral services for Mr. Glen Alewine, 76, of Good Springs, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until service time on Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home. Mr. Alewine passed from this life on March 4, 2024, at his residence. He was born January 15, 1948, in Smith County to the late Asper and Matilda (Gregory) Alewine. Glen proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was a crew chief working on Cobra helicopters. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Aircraft crewman Badge. Mr. Alewine would go on to work in the parts department for various East Texas dealerships from which he was retired. Glen was also a life-long rancher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cherry Alewine, brothers Arden, Leo and Aubrey Alewine, and nephews and niece Elton, Larry, and Janet. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Gaytan of Good Springs; children and their spouses, Juan and Morena Gonzalez of Nacogdoches, Carlos and Dasha Gonzalez of Dallas, Angelica Gonzalez and Ramon Medina of Tyler, and Carolina Gonzalez and Marcos Bernal of Henderson; sisters, Zelda Mitchell of Henderson, Hazel Arnold of Troup, and Edith Cain and husband Billy of Henderson; grandchildren, Dessy Gonzalez, Alfredo Guzman, Nadia Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, Alonzo, Christian and Jasmine Medina, and Camila, Marcos Jr. and Bruno Bernal; nephews and nieces, Lisa, Gary, Dovena, Raymond, Rickey, Darlene, Yvonne, Alex, and Danny; Extended family Kenny and Kay Berry, Randall and Beth Martin, Melinda Alewine and Eleanor Alewine. As well as a host of other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Juan Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Christian Medina, Alonzo Medina, Raymond Mitchell, Rickey Mitchell, and Dana Bush.
