Mr. Garry David Gladden

A memorial visitation for Mr. Garry David Gladden, 59, of Good Springs, will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Duncan Cemetery with Bruce Richmond and J.B. Williams officiating. Garry was born to Kenneth and Mary Gladden on November 7, 1957. He passed away on January 21, 2017, at ETMC Tyler. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Ralph and Pearl Gladden and Willie and Eula Stewart; uncles, Floyd Stewart and J.M. Gladden; aunts, Gladys and husband, John T. Propes, Bonnie Sue Gladden, Dorothy Collins, and Maurice Lucas; and "special adopted" nephew, Taylor Chote. Survivors include: his parents Kenneth and Mary Gladden; uncle Jimmy Gladden and wife, Glenda, and their children, Gayla, Jason, and Greg; uncle Charles Gladden and wife Jackie, and their children Juliandra, Charleston, and Bill; his "special adopted" niece and nephews Brianna, Heath, and Seth, and their parents Rusty and Stacey Chote. He is also survived by some very special high school friends, Justin Sharp, Randy Strickland, David Sparks, Betty Searcy, Elaine Dennis, Pam Haddox, and a host of friends, relatives, and Luminant buddies. Garry graduated from Carlisle High School in May of 1976 and went on to work with his father at Kenneth Gladden Plumbing prior to his 35 years with Luminant as a mechanic. He was a member of FFA and the National Rifle Association. Garry was a friendly, loving, and caring man that never went without a smile. He enjoyed the simple things in life and understood the importance of having dignity and showing respect to others, especially elders. The love that he had for his mom and dad was shown daily, particularly through the unusual pet names that he had for both of them. Garry loved animals, especially the family Dachshund dogs, Beide, Edye, and Sara. He was a Christian and of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed reading the Bible every day and was well versed in the scriptures. Garry loved his Grandmother Stewart's chicken and dumplings and his Grandmother Gladden's fried chicken. Garry is now with God in Heaven, playing with Beide and Edye. His body no longer suffers with diabetes, heart problems, or strokes. Garry will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
