Funeral Services for Mr. Ernest Wade Jr. , age 79, of Henderson, will be held at2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, in the chapel of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Homein Henderson with Rev. George Conway and Rev. Jim Conway officiating.Interment will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Henderson. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel.Mr. Wade, who was a lifelong resident of Rusk County, went to be with the Lordon Monday, July 27, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He was born on Sept. 28, 1929,to Ernest Wade Sr. and wife, Iva. He was a graduate of Laneville High School andwas a mechanic by trade. He retired in 1985 after a 30 year career with EastmanKodak. He was a strong man of the Christian faith and a faithful member ofEastside Baptist Church and later Hillview Baptist Church of Henderson. He wasalso a Korean War veteran having served in the military in Okinawa from 1951-1953.Mr. Wade was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Wade of Henderson; hisparents, Ernest Wade Sr. and Iva Jewel Davis Wade Edwards; brother, Bobby Wade of Henderson; three sisters, Merlyn Brooks of Henderson, Hassie Lou Spittle of Minneapolis, Minn. and Dorothy Armstrong of Henderson.Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Louise Spain Wade;one daughter, Debbie Lemley and husband, Roy of Henderson; son, Randy Wadeof Henderson and one sister, Janet Lockridge and husband, Tommy of Henderson.He is also survived by five grandchildren, Amy Young and husband Jay of Pittsburg, Carrie Mashburn and husband, Brian of Longview, Kaleb Wade, Allie Wade and Skylar Wade, all of Henderson and five great-grandchildren, Summer, Kylie and Keely Mashburn of Longview and Elijah and Noah Young of Pittsburg. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Hodkinson and wife, Joan of Henderson, Charlie Davis and wife, Barbara of Ellicott City, Md. and J.L. Spain and wife, Dot of Lewisville.Pallbearers will be Stephen Lockridge, Kevin Lockridge, Donnie Hodkinson, Glenn Hodkinson, Andy Hodkinson and Brian Mashburn.The family of Earnest Wade Jr. would like to send a special thanks to Hospice of East Texas and to nurse Gail McGough and aide, Debbie Renfro and to RichardMiller and Betty Weatherford for their special care of Mr. Wade during his time of illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the the Hospice of East Texas.
