Emory George Lee Williams

Graveside services for Mr. Emory George Lee Williams, 82, of Bryan, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023, at King Cemetery with Harold Sadler officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, at the funeral home. Mr. Williams passed from this life on June 21, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born January 4, 1941, in Rusk County where he was raised and spent most of his life. Mr. Williams served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later became an electrical contractor and had a long career with Sadler’s BBQ in Henderson. Emory loved fishing and woodworking as well as traveling and had been to 49 of the 50 states. Perhaps above all, he loved his grandchildren more than life itself. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Garrett Williams; father, George Lee and wife Leslie Williams; sisters, Bobbie Sue Phillips and husband A.W., and Patsy Lou Fountain and husband Ronald; brother, William T. Sanders; sister, Helen Ruth Elder; brothers, Ralph Williams and wife Jackie, and Robert Williams and wife Judy; and brother-in-law, Dale Purdy. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Martha Williams of Bryan; daughters, Kaitlin Williams Jackson and husband Mark of LaPorte, Kassandra Williams of Pasadena, and Kara Wiliams and husband Shayne Seber of Pasadena; adopted daughter, Shelly Meyers and husband James of Vidor; grandchildren, Brian Jackson, Kathryn Clark, David Williams, Khloe Williams, Payton Goodman, Matthew Short, and Jayson Williams; siblings, John Ross Sanders of Tatum, Carol Purdy of Tyler, Murry Williams and wife JoAnn of Ore City, and Cindy Powdrill of Tatum; special close friends, Harold and Mildred Sadler of Henderson, and Danielle Batchelor of Bryan; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to say a special word of thanks to Enhabit Hospice of Bryan, and Mary Hovey of Camp Verde. Pallbearers will be Steven Williams, Joey Sanders, Davin Powdrill, Brandon Powdrill, Blake Yingling, and Travis Yingling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to help them defray the cost of funeral services for Mr. Williams.
