Mrs. Emi Corine Culley

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Emi Corine Culley, 90, will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Tyler Road Baptist Church, with Pastor Brian Teer officiating. A private burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, under the care of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends from 10:30 AM until the start of the service at the church. Mrs. Culley peacefully went home to her Savior on December 24, 2024, at her residence in Henderson surrounded by family. Born March 7, 1934, in Tokyo, Japan, Emiko Watanabe led a life filled with faith, love, and purpose. Since 1966, Henderson had been her cherished home. She worked as a hairdresser at The Kingsley Place assisted living and was well-loved in her community. She was actively involved in the churches where her husband, Roy, pastored, dedicating her time to the children's and nursery departments as well as leading craft activities during Vacation Bible School. She delighted in tending her garden and cultivating beautiful flowers, yet her greatest passion was her family, whom she loved deeply. Emi, affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, embodied a grandmother's love and devotion through her kindness, support, and the cherished memories she created with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tsunetaro and Haruno Aita Watanabe; her brother, Saburo Watanabe; her sister, Tsuneko Robinson; and her son-in-law, Joe Bollinger. Emi is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Roy Culley of Henderson; her children, Carol Plemmons Meissner and husband, Alvin, of Farmersville, Julie Bollinger of Tyler, and John Allan Culley and wife, Kim, of Spring; her grandchildren, John Plemmons and wife, Gentry, of Tyler, Seth Plemmons of Nashville, Tennessee, Sarah Martinez and husband, Doug, of Boston, Massachusetts, Jessica Hefner and husband, Brandon, of Flint, John Michael Culley and wife, Haley, of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Bethany Culley of Spring; her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Charlotte, Maxwell, and Brady; her brother-in-law, James Robinson of Hawaii; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tyler Road Baptist Church, 5473 SH 64 W, Henderson, TX 75652.
