Mrs. Elwina Sweet Curtis Reilly

Elwina Sweet Curtis Reilly passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 2, 2026, at 101 years old. She was born on February 7, 1925 in Idabel, OK, daughter of John Newton and Mary Alice Sweet. She grew up in Caddo, OK and spent most of her life living in Oklahoma and traveling. Elwina did many things in her century of life. She was a seamstress, a real-life Rosie the Riveter during WWII, and worked her way up to Cafeteria Manager at a Tulsa public school. She was a passionate gardener. She loved playing cards and was lovingly known as the Canasta Queen by her grandchildren. She usually had a difficult crossword puzzle in hand, and enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers play baseball. Elwina was a talented poet, writing about her deep love for God and His love for the world, along with the occasional silly rhyme. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Wagoner, OK for many years. She will be remembered for her generous spirit. She never hesitated to give when she knew someone was in need. This made her notoriously difficult to gift for, as she always said the Lord provided everything she needed. Yet, her loved ones still tried every Christmas and birthday. In addition to her parents, Elwina was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children Clarence Joseph Curtis Sr., husband Leland Reilly, all of her brothers, and many friends. Elwina is survived by and was a loving mother to her three children Joey Curtis and wife Nan of Wagoner, OK, Curt Curtis of Tulsa, OK, and Myrna Salmon and husband Rod of Henderson; grandchildren Tony Curtis, Coline Wood and husband Paul, Lori McCauley and her sons Trey and his wife Amy, and Dean, Dane Trout and wife Julie and their children Kendra, Erin, Jamie, Bailey, and Ian, Julie Kelley and her children Julian, Gabriel, and Nathan, Jack Salmon and wife Marlene, Angey Price and husband Wesley and their children Cullen and Lincoln, Ryleigh Salmon, and Molly Hastings and husband Daniel; and a host of nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends. She will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2026, with Rev. Rod Salmon officiating under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
