Chantel Barrett

Funeral services for Chantel Barrett, 18, of Tyler, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Henderson with Rev. M.D. Hood officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetrey under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2012 in the chapel of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.Miss Barrett passed from this life on July 19, 2012 in Coffee City. She was born September 15, 1993 in Henderson to Kevin Barrett and Chiara Rhodes Hanks. Chantel spent most of her life in Tyler and attended Liberty Baptist Church and St. Louis Baptist Church with family and friends. She was a 2012 graduate of John Tyler High School, and she had just finished orientation for Nursing School at Navarro College. At John Tyler, Chantel was active in volleyball, softball, and power lifting. Her friendly and loving personality welcomed patrons to Texas Roadhouse in Tyler where she was a hostess. Chantel was loved by all and was known for that beautiful smile that she always had on her face. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles Barron, Helen Smith, Larry Morris, and Mary Morris; great-great-grandmother, Fronnie Barrett; and uncle, Marcus Noa.Those left to cherish her memory are: father, Kevin Barrett of Chandler, and Chiara Hanks and husband Brad of Chandler; grandparents, Rudy Rhodes and wife Melissa of Mt. Enterprise, Sharon Barrett of Tyler, Leroy Hanks and wife Melissa of Tyler, Ann Morris of Henderson, and Godmother Terry Newsome and husband James of Tyler; great-grandparents, Ann and Bobby Green of Longbranch, June Rhodes of Willis, Marie and Wilton Spencer of Tyler, and Sam Smith of Dallas; great-great-grandmother, Dovie Green of Henderson; brother, Justice Hanks; sisters, Brooke Jones and Bailey Hanks; uncles, Dylan Clark, Rickey Reese Jr., Larry Jacobs, Gregory Morris, Gregory Bell, Clint Lockridge, Nicholas Green,Danny and John David Rhodes, Ryan and Phillip Noa, and Colby Rhodes; aunts, Melanie Morris Bell, Sabrina Reese, Rebecca Lockridge, Marta Rhodes, La'Tayna Moseley, Taronica Morris, Jennifer Green, Lakebba Reese, Tammy Rhodes, Kimberly Rhodes, and special aunt and uncle, Elton and Darwin Spencer, and Lisa Wells, as well as other aunts and uncles out of Dallas; special friends and Godmother, Nichola Noa, Vic Garder, Chad Dansby, Dessirae Deason, and Emma Jacobs; and a host of cousins and extended family.Pallbearers will be Cleveland Sanders, Ryan Noa, Nicholas Green, Dylan Clark, Clint Lockridge, and Phillip Noa.
