Funeral Services for Bobbie Wood, 81, of Henderson will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Matt Gholson, David Rudd and Jim Conway officiating. Burial will follow at the Laneville Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.Bobbie passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009, at a local nursing home following a lengthy illness.She was born September 16, 1927, to the late Alpheus and Lorene Webb of Henderson.Miss Bobbie, as she was affectionately known, was a devout Christian and attended Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church at the time of her death. She served the Lord faithfully and lovingly teaching Sunday School and raising her family of five children. She loved the ladies of her Sunday School classes and found great joy in sharing love, laughter and the Word of God with everyone. She was a homemaker, sometime legal secretary, full time mother and a part time mother to more children in Henderson than can be counted. She loved her husband and her family. She loved watermelon. She loved music and singing. She loved fishing. She loved riding horses. She loved baking buttermilk pies. But she loved her grandchildren more than anything.Miss Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Dan R. Wood; her parents, Mr. Alpheus Stroud and Mrs. Lorene Bell Webb and one brother, Maurice "Chick" Webb. She is survived by her sons, Mike Wood, Chris Wood and wife Karen; daughters, Carol Wood Steele, Malinda Tillison and Sherward, Lorie Arnold and Jason; grandchildren, Casey Wood, Matt Wood, Stoney Tillison, Cheyenne Tillison and Kaitlyn Arnold; and one great grandson of one week, Clayton Lee Wood, all of Henderson. Plus numberous other family members.Pallbearers will be Casey Wood, Matt Wood, Stoney Tillison, Jason Arnold, Sherward Tillison, Paul Wood and Jack Hodges.Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Wood's first cousin Rex Webb, Tommy Gene Webb, Royce Beall, Ray Beall, Eugene 'Sonny' Broome, M.V. Hudson and Alton Stone.The family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Crawford-A.
