Mr. Bill Stroud

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Bill Stroud, 85, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Father Joe Kannampuzha officiating. Interment will follow at Moyers Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, February 13, at the funeral home, and the rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Mr. Stroud passed from this life on February 9, 2024, at his residence, just one day shy of his 86th birthday. He was born February 10, 1938, and raised in Mounds, Oklahoma. He made his way to Henderson nearly 50 years ago where he would spend the majority of his life. Early on in his career, Bill was a carpenter and did concrete work in Dallas. After the move to Henderson, he owned and operated his own business, Bill Stroud Concrete, until his retirement. Mr. Stroud was a hard-working man and poured the slabs for an untold number of homes and businesses in Henderson and the East Texas area. Bill was stern and had high expectations on a job site, but it was never personal, always business, and he was a respected concrete man. In his spare time, he loved to fish and ride his horses. He also enjoyed deer hunting and tending to his cattle. Mr. Stroud was also a long-time member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mary (Hamilton) Jones, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beatriz Stroud of Henderson; sons, Billy Stroud and wife Michelle of Henderson, and James Stroud and wife Katherine of West Allis, Wisconsin; brothers, Bobby Stroud of Mounds, Oklahoma and Ray Jones of Florida; sister, Chris Rovang and husband Charlie of Mounds, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Terrance, Tristan, Hayden, Cecilia, Felicity, Elizabeth, Teresa, Brigid, Thomas, Anastasia, and Emilia; great-grandchildren, Marcella, Aymeric, and Annabelle; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends and colleagues. Pallbearers will be Jon Norman, Ricky Norman, Larry Reedy, Billy Stroud, Terrance Stroud, and Tristan Stroud. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordacrim.com.
