Mr. Barney S. Heim Jr.

Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Barney S. Heim, Jr. 76, of Brachfield, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at Crims Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Pat Stephens and Rev. Toby Tipps officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at the funeral home. Mr. Heim passed away September 11, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his wife, son and daughter. He was born April 24, 1948 in Henderson to the late Barney S. Heim, Sr. and Ruby Cleo (Thompson) Heim. Barney was a Corporal in US Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict from 1966-1969, earning a Purple Heart Medal for his service to the country. He worked many years as a Supervisor in the Maintenance Department at Luminant, and he held his fellow workers there in high regard. He was also a rancher, enjoying working with his cows. Barney loved to ride his Harley with his “ride or die” partner Rickie Glenn. He had a passion for sports, attending every game possible to watch his grandsons in the Dixie League, 12U and 7U. Barney was a faithful member of Crims Chapel First Baptist Church of Henderson, being recently baptized, and would be heard there with his “Hallelujah!” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Dolores Broussard, and brother-in-law John Broussard. He is survived by his one and only true love of 54 years, Janet Heim of Brachfield, son Shane Heim; daughter Danielle Smith, and husband Cody; six grandchildren, Ambrielle Rains, Braelee Heim, Madison Mason, Abigale Timmerman, Dylan Smith, and Bryce Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Cove Rains, and Reed Mason; two sisters, Charlotte Smith and Bonnie Sanders and husband Bob; sister-in-law Gail Stephens and husband Pat, two brothers-in-law, PeeWee Glenn and wife Debbie, and Rickie Glenn. Pallbearers are Shane Heim, Dylan Smith, Cody Smith, Randy Young, PeeWee Glenn, Toby Tipps, Johnny Poole, and Donny Stanley. Honorary pallbearers are Rickie Glenn and Bryce Smith.
