Mr. Harold Price

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Price, 81, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the chapel at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Jason Taylor and Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 1, at the funeral home. Mr. Price passed from this life on November 25, 2023, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler. He was born June 18, 1942, in Logansport, Louisiana to the late Roy Lee and Cleo (Roberts) Price. Harold was raised in Rusk and graduated as an honor student from Rusk High School at the age of 16. He went on to Tyler Junior College on a football scholarship where he was a part of the team, coached by Floyd Wagstaff, that won a Junior College National Championship at the Rose Bowl. After his time at TJC, Mr. Price attended Lamar University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Price was a civil engineer and former partner with Stokes and Associates before starting his own firm, Price Engineering. He also left his indelible mark on many young men as a boxing coach as well as those that he helped bring to the Lord through his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous and his many years of sobriety. Harold also enjoyed hunting and fishing and “hanging out” with his grandkids and has been a member of Bar None Cowboy Church for several years. Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Rita Price of Henderson; son, Kevin Price and wife Deborah of Henderson; daughter, Gina Hopson and husband Travis of Arkansas; grandchildren, Matt Morton and wife Allison, Joseph Price, Krista Leigh Morton, LaJohnna Price, Jaylen Price, Madeline Hopson, and Riley Hopson; great-grandchildren, Bradyn Price, Channing Price, Kali Price, Josiah Price, Owen Morton, and Ava Morton; brother-in-law, Elmer Beckworth Jr. and wife Janice and their daughters Margaret and Erin Beckworth of Rusk; his best furry friend, Smokey; as well as a host of cousins, other family, friends and the many kids that Harold and Rita have taught throughout the years. Pallbearers will be Joseph Price, Jaylen Price, Matt Morton, Bradyn Price, Elmer Beckworth Jr., and Dylan Martin.
