Memorial services for Grace Jean Kinnebrew, 79, of Henderson, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Ricks officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.Mrs.Kinnebrew passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving friends and the special care of Hospice of East Texas.Grace was born to Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Gilbert on Aug. 31, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon graduating high school, she traveled the world extensively and upon her return back to Cincinnati she met the love of her life, W.L. (Butch) Kinnebrew, who was a resident of Henderson, who had been transferred to Cincinnati for business.Grace was well known to the people of Henderson for her many years at Peoples State Bank, where she retired in 1994.Grace was always a doer, believing the way to make your town better is to be involved and she certainly was, dedicating most of her life to the service of others. Grace was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Henderson. She was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star 494, lifelong member of Lions Club International, where she served as president, as well as Board of Directors. She was also awarded the Prestigious Life Membership for the Texas Lions Camp given only to those who have given exemplary service. She was a member of the Henderson Area Chamber of Commerce for many years and served as an Ambassador helping promote new business. In 1998, she was awarded the prestigious Ambassador of the Year of the Henderson Area Chamber of Commerce. Grace's proudest achievement was serving three terms as city council woman for District 1, only stepping down due to failing health. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and never stopped giving. She loved nothing more than a good laugh and taking care of her loved ones.Grace was preceded in death by beloved husband, Butch; her parents, Mr.and Mrs. W.L. Gilbert; her brother, Troy Gilbert; her grandson, Dylan Jacobs; dear friend, Sammie Jo Skeen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.She is mourned by her daughter, Linda Sue Delaney of Florida; granddaughters, Lacey Bremher, Sara Brown and husband Ty, Molly Delaney and great-granddaughter, Tyra Brown; Gracie's favorite cousins, Cynthia Weniger, John Wayne Stewart and Sara (Jeanette) Rust; cherished friends, Stacey Strong and husband Stephen, Charley and Jackie Floyd and Debbie Pannell, as well as many other dear friends and neighbors.Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Freeman, Michael Bell, Russell Brown, Tim Ashmore, Thomas Ward, Greg Smith, Charlie Floyd, Mike Smith, and Buzz Fullen.It gives us great comfort to know that Gracie is finally back in the arms of her beloved Butch and our Heavenly Father and that they will never be parted again.Condolences may be made at www.crawfordacrim.com
