Ms. Cheryl Annette Bennett

Cheryl Annette Bennett, 65 of Oak Hill went to meet her Jesus on October 11, 2023. The Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson, Reverend Lisa Mayhugh will be officiating the service. Annette was born June 1, 1958, to Melvin and Joyce Williams Bennett of Oak Hill. Two sons and their wives survive her, Adrian & Jamie Blackmon, Damon & Jessica Blackmon. "GlamAnnette" left behind seven grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Alexis, Grant, Sadie, Blair, Audrey, Carly & Annabell. Also surviving Annette are two sisters and their husbands: Sheila & Eddie Evers, Nita & Billy Bob Brady, and one brother Doug Bennett. Also, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and one special nephew Bret. The interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Rusk County. Honorary pallbearers are the seven grandchildren. Annette was a beautiful, strong-willed, fun-loving, and independent woman who loved animals. Every cow, cat, and stray dog had a name. She had a great love for nice things, like hats and boots, and most of all dancing. She followed in her father's footsteps, by raising cattle and ranching. She loved her longhorns, bull “Braveheart” and can’t forget about her pony “Little Feather”. Annette attended Henderson schools and was in the class of 1976. She attended Kilgore College and LeTourneau University where she earned a degree in Photography and Applied Science. She also received a bachelor’s degree in business management. She enrolled in Tyler Real Estate College which led her to a successful career with Prudential Real Estate as an agent between 1994-1997. She was a member of the Longview Chamber of Commerce. She received an award from Hardin Simmons University in 1995 for Real Property Management. Annette enjoyed volunteering for her community which included the East Texas Literacy Council, Windridge Equestrian Therapeutics, Longview Cancer Center, Longview Regional, Longview Hospice, National Rifle Association, and the Red Cross. She was employed at several businesses in Longview: Photography Studios, Capacity, and Longview News Journal. Nette’s faith sustained her through her battle with Colon/Liver cancer. She fought courageously while maintaining her belief in Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who loved her.
