W.J. Smith
June 7, 1934 - March 15, 2012

Mr. W.J. Smith, 77, of the Glenfawn community, went to be with his Lord and Savior March 15, 2012 in Henderson. He was born June 7, 1934 in Beckville to the late Bryant Smith and Lily Davis Boling, and he lived in the Beckville/Tatum area for most of his life.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Army and later became a master plumber. He retired at age fifty-two from plumbing to pursue what he really loved, horse trading, and followed that path as long as his health would allow. Mr. Smith was a member of Pine Grove Assembly of God.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by: his sister, Margie Mae Jones; and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include: wife of fifty-one years, Sandra Smith of the Glenfawn community; son, Melvin Gene Smith of Looneyville; and brothers, Hubert Smith of Tatum, and Melvin Smith of Carthage.
